| Kids Fencing, (LD), 2018 |
During this year, I have helping teaching fencing to young children at schools for an Afterschool Program. I taught the kids how to fence, footwork, bladework and how to get properly equipped. I learned that it takes patience when dealing with young kids, and I can now understand the meaning of leadership. I made a difference by teaching kids the ages 5-13 how to fence, I taught them that fencing is not only about winning; it's about strategy and setting up your attack on your opponent. This has impacted my future volunteer work because I can always come back in the future to help teach fencing. I plan to share this experience with others by telling them about how I gained leadership in my volunteer work. Overall, this experience was very fun and I'd love to keep teaching fencing.
